Week 35 (Part 1): Flowing Down Under

Yesterday was Father's Day. We made plans to celebrate Father's Day with Papa Haw 1.0 at 6:30pm at Lawry's Prime Rib. I am still waiting to cash in on my sister's promise to take me to a yummier version of Lawry's aka House of Prime Rib in SF. Anyways, I had just woken up from my nap and noticed that I had clear fluids on my undies and part of my dress. This was not normal since usually I only leak right after I use the bathroom. Anyways, I didn't think too much of it, got ready and went to dinner. At dinner, I was very uncomfortable. I started feeling contractions and some pelvic pressure on top of my swollen legs, ankles, and feet. It was bearable since my pain tolerance is high. (Jon says people who say they have high pain tolerance don't..)

I came home and I was still definitely leaking a little bit, not water breaking, but I was worried since I am nearing the end of this pregnancy. We called the hospital's Labor & Delivery and sure enough, they said we should go in to get checked.

HOLY CRAP, what if we came back with a baby. I was SO NOT ready (both mentally, physically, and emotionally). Jon was smiling from ear to ear.. I guess he was ready to become a daddy on father's day.

We threw some things into our hospital bag and off we went.

I've been quite familiar with the hospital since this was my 4th time there. Yet, I always get a different nurse every time. Anyways, they put me in a delivery room..just in case. It was such a crazy feeling. They had me change, provide urine sample, and do a ROM Test. The Rupture of Membrane [ROM] tests to see whether or not my water broke. I did it once before, but holy crap, it hurt SO bad this time. It felt like someone took a metal clothespin and pinched my poor vag lips down there. We waited for the results and whew it came out negative. We were cleared to go home.

BUT, Dr. Tabsh moved my stitch removal date to this Thursday [June 25th] instead of next Thursday [July 2nd] so baby j haw may make his debut into the world in June. Ahh!!!!!!!!
